Independent Agent, Catholic Order of Foresters

What inspired you to start this business?

As an independent agent for the Catholic Order of Foresters, I help grow the faith by creating and executing fraternal outreach activities, while also helping protect the financial futures of Catholic families. I can do this all while transparently being truly Catholic in all my actions and deeds.

How does your faith shape your work?

All of my work includes educational meetings with Catholics, aimed at helping them become financially bulletproof. I pray before each meeting, asking the Holy Spirit to “reveal financial issues I can help with. If there are none, please send me on to the next family.“ This approach makes for a low pressure, high learning environment. COF’s Investment Policy Statement mandates that the invested assets of the organization be managed in a manner that is consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. For devout Catholics, this makes a significant difference. Not only is there peace of mind financially, but there’s also peace of conscience. Taking our commitment to the Catholic community a step further, COF offers a special benefit in which 5% of the face value of the policy will be committed to the insured’s favorite Catholic charity upon their passing at no cost to the insured or their beneficiaries. These gifts can make a significant difference for the charities, and we have careful requirements to ensure the charities are authentically Catholic. In addition, we provide a variety of fraternal outreach to serve and care for the Catholic community. Programs include scholarships for homeschool, grade school, high school and college students, mission trips for those aged 18-24, Adopt-A-Seminarian, and other year-round efforts to feed people spiritually, physically and mentally. Spirituality Tap Ins are special events where COF sends a Priest or Deacon into a bar or coffee shop to deliver an evangelistic talk to the public. Serving Catholics is all that we do at COF.

What's a favorite patron saint or scripture?

St. Maximillian Kolbe is my go-to saint. I used to be very sick with severe digestive issues. As St. Kolbe spent so many days in a starvation bunker in Nazi Germany, his sacrifice of not eating helped me offer up days when I could not eat.

What's one thing you'd like customers to know?
