What inspired you to start this business?

I taught CCD for many years - I asked the question "What if, there is a connection between the 150 Psalms and the Most Holy Rosary?" In St. Louis de Montfort's book The Secret of the Rosary, he explains there is. I wrote my book - The Psalter of Jesus and Mary - A Scriptural Rosary according to Psalms and Proverbs. Since then I have written many more books - titles currently total 13 - and 2 Scriptural prayer CDs.

How does your faith shape your work?

It is central - to write Prayer books you have to be praying and praying. The sermons at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass are usually what touches my heart and ideas for new books emerge. The priest - Persona Christi - gives me ideas to write the next book...

What's a favorite patron saint or scripture?

Most Holy Rosary and "Speak, Lord, your servant is Listening." 1 Sm 3:10 Hence, the name of our company, Suffering Servant Scriptorium. we are the suffering servants working for the Suffering Servant (Is 53)

What's one thing you'd like customers to know?

We incorporate Sacred Scripture with the Catholic Devotions, so that the sometimes-repetitive prayers of the Rosary and Divine Mercy are spiritually enhanced with meditations to slow your prayer down and hear the Word of God. Speak, Lord, I am Listening - is both the title of our Children's best selling prayer book, but also a plea to hear the Word of God through His Sacred Word. Too many to relate - prayer changes lives and hearts -- but it is really the Holy Spirit who is doing the work - I like to say we are His "scribes." We write the books, HIs Word changes hearts that use and pray with our books.
