What inspired you to start this business?

After experiencing burnout as a leader, I began taking a closer look at what truly mattered to me and, in the process, grew much deeper in my Catholic faith. I realized God was calling me to use my leadership experience to help other leaders build successful businesses without sacrificing the lives they were meant to live. I had spent years leading teams and going through leadership training, but I could see important pieces were missing. I started Kristina Schmitt Development to help leaders learn those lessons without having to struggle through them the hard way.

How does your faith shape your work?

I see my work as a calling from God. I believe we were created to work and that our work can be a source of purpose, growth, healing, and even holiness. Too often, though, we separate our faith from our professional lives. When we integrate the two—allowing our faith to shape how we lead, serve, make decisions, and treat others—our work becomes about more than business success. It becomes a way to do something genuinely good in the world.

What's a favorite patron saint or scripture?

St. Jane de Chantal has become a special patron for me, particularly through her example of trusting God through unexpected changes in life. I also return often to Psalm 23: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Its reminder to let God lead, rather than believing I have to carry everything myself, has been especially meaningful in both my life and my work.

What's one thing you'd like customers to know?

Seeking help isn’t a sign that you’re failing—it’s part of how we were designed to work. God gives each of us different gifts, and we were never meant to have all the answers or do everything on our own. Lean into the gifts you’ve been given, and don’t be afraid to seek the wisdom, training, and support of others where you need it. We’re at our best when we work interdependently.
