What inspired you to start this business?

I created this company to build an environment where customers and employees can work with people who genuinely enrich their lives, and at the very least, spare them from having to deal with jerks. VSO was founded on a simple principle: “No Jerks.”

How does your faith shape your work?

My faith shapes the foundation of our company culture and guides how we interact with one another every day. Anyone familiar with the faith will recognize the influence of the Gospels and the letters of the Apostles reflected in our company's first principles.

What's a favorite patron saint or scripture?

My favorite devotion is the Angelus. It is a beautiful way to remember the Lord and ask for His Mother’s intercession in the middle of what is usually a very busy day. I have always had a devotion to the more active saints: St. Sebastian, Francis Xavier, St. Patrick, etc., but St. Thérèse of Lisieux has been a recent favorite. The two Gospel passages I try to keep in mind are the parable of the talents and the message of the vine and the branches: “I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing.”

What's one thing you'd like customers to know?

Customers entrust VSO with the responsibility of developing, transforming, and operating their IT infrastructure. Our customers consistently view us as a force for good—both in their business and in the broader world. While I can point to many standout moments where VSO has delivered exceptional results, what matters most to me is the day-to-day work we do for clients like Kaiser Permanente, Disney, and Raytheon to help their businesses thrive.
