What inspired you to start this business?

Since I was a kid, I dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur. After nearly 10 years in corporate accounting, I realized I wanted to build a business where I could use my God-given talents while living out my faith more fully in my work. In 2023, I took a leap of faith and started my own bookkeeping firm, GC Holistic Accounting. As I started working with small business owners, I saw how often they felt overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from their finances. I realized that my role could be more than keeping the books. I could help business owners gain greater peace and confidence in their finances; and ultimately, create a positive impact that extends beyond their businesses to their personal lives and families.

How does your faith shape your work?

My faith is at the heart of how I run my business. I begin my days by asking God to guide my goals and decisions and to lead my conversations and interactions with the people I serve. At the end of the day, God is my CEO. My Christian faith reminds me to lead with compassion, honesty, integrity, and care. I believe my clients deserve more than someone who simply manages their numbers; they deserve a trusted advisor who genuinely cares about their business, their goals, and the people they provide for. I also believe that business can be a way to practice good stewardship using the talents, resources, and opportunities God has given us wisely and purposefully. This is one of the reasons I’m passionate about helping business owners understand their finances and make decisions that support both their businesses and the lives they are building.

What's a favorite patron saint or scripture?

One of my favorite scriptures is Isaiah 55:8–9: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” I love this passage because my plans don't always unfold the way I expect. When things don't go according to plan, it reminds me to surrender my expectations to God and trust that His plans are greater than mine. This scripture has helped me practice gratitude, trust God's timing, and remain open to where He is leading me, even when I don't yet understand the path.

What's one thing you'd like customers to know?

Your business doesn't have to be a constant source of stress or overwhelm. It is possible to build a sustainable, profitable business with intentional planning, the right systems, and the right support. If you're feeling uncertain about your next step, don't be afraid to ask for help. Seek God's guidance, and take the next step with faith and intention.
