ABOUT THE BUSINESS

What inspired you to start this business?
After struggling with infertility for nearly nine years, I was blessed to conceive my children while remaining faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church. Breastfeeding each of my four children became a gift I never took for granted. As I reflected on the beauty of motherhood, the dignity of family life, and the precious memories created during those years, I felt called to create meaningful heirlooms that help mothers preserve and celebrate those sacred seasons. Mystical Rose Makery was born from a desire to honor the blessings of motherhood, cherish the gift of life, and provide families with keepsakes rooted in faith.
How does your faith shape your work?
My Catholic faith guides every aspect of my business. I believe that every human person possesses inherent dignity from conception until natural death, and that our memories and relationships are gifts entrusted to us by God. This conviction influences not only the designs I create but also the way I operate my business. As part of living out the Corporal Work of Mercy to Bury the Dead, I do not work with human or pet cremation remains. This means I am able to ensure that no cremation remains are ever present in my studio, eliminating any possibility of microscopic cross-contamination with customers' treasured keepsakes. My goal is to create beautiful heirlooms that reflect both exceptional craftsmanship and a deep respect for the dignity of every person.
What's a favorite patron saint or scripture?
One of my favorite patron saints is St. Thérèse of Lisieux. Her "Little Way" reminds me that great holiness is found in faithfully carrying out ordinary duties with extraordinary love. As a wife, mother, homeschooler, and artisan, I find encouragement in her example that small acts done for God can have eternal significance. A favorite scripture is Luke 1:38: "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." (NABRE) Mary's trust and surrender to God's plan continue to inspire both my family life and my work.
What's one thing you'd like customers to know?
I want customers to know that every piece is created with deep respect for the memories and stories entrusted to me. Whether you are celebrating a breastfeeding journey, honoring a season of motherhood, or preserving a cherished family memory, I understand that these keepsakes represent something irreplaceable. I am also the only breast milk rosary maker and the only breast milk jewelry maker who does not work with any human or pet remains, ensuring that your inclusions are handled in an environment dedicated exclusively to preserving life's precious moments. Every piece is crafted as an heirloom—something intended to be treasured, shared, and passed down for generations.
DEVOTIONAL
Reflect on the vocation of motherhood through the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of Our Lady of La Leche. Consider the hidden sacrifices, sleepless nights, physical demands, emotional burdens, and daily acts of self-giving that mothers embrace out of love. How does Mary's example reveal the dignity of these ordinary sacrifices? In what ways can mothers unite their sacrifices to Christ and find grace in the often unseen work of nurturing their families?
Motherhood is one of the most profound expressions of self-giving love. Long before a child can offer gratitude or even recognize a mother's sacrifices, she pours herself out daily for the good of another. She loses sleep to comfort a crying baby, sets aside her own preferences to meet the needs of her family, and quietly bears countless burdens that often go unseen. In Our Lady of La Leche, we encounter the Blessed Virgin Mary in a uniquely tender role: nourishing the Son of God with her own body. The Creator of the universe chose to become dependent upon a mother. Christ, who feeds the world with the Bread of Life, first received nourishment at Mary's breast. This mystery reveals the extraordinary dignity God has bestowed upon motherhood. The world often measures worth by visible accomplishments, status, or recognition. Yet much of a mother's work is hidden. Meals are prepared and eaten. Clothes are washed and worn. Tears are dried. Prayers are whispered. Children are taught, corrected, comforted, and loved. These seemingly ordinary acts are, in reality, acts of sacrificial love that reflect the very heart of Christ. Mary's motherhood was marked not only by joy but also by sacrifice. She carried Christ in her womb, cared for Him throughout His childhood, followed Him during His ministry, and stood faithfully beneath the Cross. Her "yes" to God was renewed again and again through daily acts of love and surrender. Every mother is invited to echo that same fiat: "Let it be done to me according to your word." The sacrifices of motherhood are not wasted. When united to Christ, they become a participation in His redemptive love. The sleepless nights, the worries, the physical demands, and the countless hidden acts of service become offerings pleasing to God. Through them, mothers help shape souls for eternity. Our Lady of La Leche reminds us that nurturing life is holy work. In a culture that often overlooks the value of maternal sacrifice, she stands as a witness that every act of love offered for a child has eternal significance. The hands that rock a cradle, prepare a meal, teach a lesson, or wipe away tears are participating in God's own work of love. May mothers find comfort in knowing that God sees every sacrifice, treasures every act of self-giving, and delights in the vocation He has entrusted to them. Through the intercession of Our Lady of La Leche, may they receive the grace to persevere with faith, hope, and joy. After nearly nine years of infertility, I came to see motherhood not as something owed to me, but as an extraordinary gift from God. Every nursing session, sleepless night, and ordinary moment became something to treasure. Mystical Rose Makery was born from a desire to help other mothers preserve and celebrate those sacred memories through heirloom keepsakes rooted in faith.
