Vocatio Travel

What inspired you to start this business?

Travel and mission are part of my spiritual DNA. I have been to 5 World Youth Days and spent 8 years in discernment as a missionary seminarian which took my to many countries around the globe. When I discerned out in 2016, I began teaching Theology of the Body for high school Seniors in Dallas. My students were the ones who inspired me to start my business as I could see the need there was to give them opportunities to see and experience places that made our Faith come to life. I also saw the need to offer accessible pricing for students that was not very easy to find.

How does your faith shape your work?

It permeates everything we do at Vocatio, from the dynamics on our all Catholic team (many of whom or ex-seminarians and missionaries), to how we go above and beyond since we truly understand the mission and purpose behind pilgrimage.

What's a favorite patron saint or scripture?

St Philip Neri. His joy, playfulness, and total self-gift to youth is something that inspires my family on a daily basis. I have to also mention St John Paul II - as my background is teaching the Theology of the Body and the "T" in our logo is made to resemble us crozier.

What's one thing you'd like customers to know?

Our business is to create experiences that bring people of all ages closer to Christ and to His Church through travel. We help our clients by working with them to create tailored pilgrimages, mission trips, educational tours that actually meet the needs that they have for those that they are taking on the trip. This partnership model allows us to better serve our clients by giving them unique travel experiences that can have the most impact on their flock. We have had some of the pilgrims enter discernment for seminary or religious life. Of course we cannot chalk it up to just 1 pilgrimage, but nonetheless to hear of the graces received by those in our groups makes all of the hard work totally worth it.
