The Hail Mary beads are lilac and violet quartzite — a gentle, translucent purple drifting between orchid, blush, and milky white, with the soft granular glow natural to the stone and occasional cloud-like veining that makes every bead its own. Against them, the 8–9 mm freshwater pearl Our Fathers gleam with a soft iridescent luster, each gently baroque in shape — no two pearls are ever identical, and that living irregularity is the point. Antique-bronze-tone bead caps and filigree accents warm the palette, so the whole strand reads like dusk light on vestments.
Every rosary I make begins at the bead table — sorting strands for tone and luster, matching pearls by size and shape, and settling the colorway before a single knot is tied. Each decade is strung on durable black micro cord and knotted by hand between every bead, a slow and deliberate process that gives the strand its shape and means it won't shed beads even if the cord is ever compromised.
At the heart of the strand sits a bronze-tone Sacred Heart centerpiece — the radiant heart of Christ framed in rays and scrollwork, one of the most beloved devotional images in Catholic tradition. The crucifix is cast in quality pewter and generously proportioned at 60×33 mm (about 2⅜ by 1¼ inches) — an ornate Latin cross with vine-like scrollwork around the corpus, finished in an aged bronze tone with real presence in the hand and in prayer.
